Air India Flights

Air India is the flag carrier airline of India. Its origins lie in an idea by aviator Nevill Vintcent. Vincent wanted to run mail flights from Bombay and Colombo to connect with flights from the UK. He found support for his idea in French-born Inidan business mogul J. R. D. Tata of the Tata Iron and Steel Company. In 1932 Vintcent and Tata won a contract to carry the mail and the Aviation Department of Tata Sons was formed. Later that department became what we know today as Air India. Air India serves around 60 domestic destinations and 30 international destinations in countries across Asia, Europe and North America. Air India merged with the other flag carrier of India, Indian Airlines, in 2010.
