A central part of the United States’ Midwest region, Ohio well known for being densely populated. The Buckeye State can thank its stable, expanding economy to its strategic location.

The state has multiple, international airports, the largest of which is Cleveland-Hopkins. Port Columbus is second in terms of flight traffic, followed by James M. Cox Dayton, and Akron-Canton. Cleveland-Hopkins is located approximately nine miles from downtown Cleveland, and it operates as a flight hub for Frontier Airlines and United Airlines. Port Columbus can subsequently be found in the capital city of Columbus, and it is primarily a passenger airport. 

There are currently 151 nonstop flights available to 34 destinations, and its flight base has grown to over 6.3 million. In terms of growth, the airport now services nearly all of the country’s main airline hubs, with only Alaska Airlines, Delta, and United being off its grid. 

Port Columbus is the largest airport in the central part of the state, and its most recent project was a runway overhaul that totaled $140 million in cost. Finished in 2013, this consisted of relocating the south runway, in effect increasing the number of simultaneous landings and takeoffs, and thus overall flight traffic. Flights to Ohio can also be boarded via Southwest Airlines, Frontier Airlines, and Allegiant Air.
