Approximately 800,000 foreign and domestic passengers flew through the airport in 2012, and a large number of these are tourists from the United States. Delta, jetBlue, American Airlines, United, US Airways, Southwest Airlines, and LAN Airlines offer direct flights to Puerto Plata.

What to Do in Puerto Plata?

While you are certainly free to venture to various parts of the Dominican Republic upon boarding, Puerto Plata has more enough than to keep tourists entertained for days. The Damajaqua Cascades is a collection of 27 waterfalls located about 30 minutes from the city, and is easily one of its top attractions.
