Cheap Flights to Tallahassee

Tallahassee Airport

Florida’s capital city is located on the Panhandle and is home to Florida A&M University and plenty of great restaurants and an excellent art and music scene, courtesy of course to the amazing programs offered at its esteemed schools. Despite being a southern city, the weather in Tallahassee is known for being cold in the winter. With that, many tourists decide to reserve their vacation days for the peak season summer months.  The city’s population is relatively small compared to the sprawling metropolises of Miami and Orlando, as there are about 200,000 residents currently residing in Tallahassee. With a strong, stable economy and high standard of living, the city has received an All-American City Award and Best in America award for its excellent public parks.

Flights to Tallahassee

Tallahassee Regional is the city’s main public airport, and it can be found roughly 5 miles southwest of its downtown area. Opening officially in 1961 as a municipal airport, it has seen a lot of growth over the last five decades.

The city spent $33 million on building the current terminal in 1989, and today it represents one-third of all flight traffic to and from the Northwest Florida Region. Passenger numbers have fluctuated a bit since 2006, but the airport still transports roughly 700,000 people every year. Direct flights to Tallahassee can be boarded in the United States via Delta, US Airways, American Airlines, and Silver Airways. International visitors have their choice of United and jetBlue for non-stop flights to the city.
