Meet the Team
Gareth Williams - CEO and Co-Founder
It was Gareth's frustration with finding cheap travel deals that led him to create Skyscanner in 2001 with two friends, Barry Smith and Bonamy Grimes. Gareth's 14 years of experience as a developer for financial institutions and retail companies have helped him make Skyscanner one of the top digital travel companies in the world.
In his limited spare time, Gareth enjoys playing chess and has a love for literature and the arts, and enjoys sculpting and drawing. In fact he is renowned amongst colleagues for his incessant doodling during meetings.
Gareth never travels without… “Pen and paper. It´s harder to doodle on a device”.
Mark Logan - Chief Operating Officer
Mark has overall responsibility for Product and Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Strategy and Operations.
His previous roles include Vice President of Engineering at Atlantech, CTO at Sumerian and Director of Advanced Services at Cisco. He lives in Glasgow with his partner and three sons.
Mark never travels without: “A nagging suspicion that I´ve left the iron on at home”
Shane Corstorphine - Chief Financial Officer
Prior to joining Skyscanner Shane was previously Director of Performance for Barclays. He qualified as an accountant with PWC in London as part of the Financial Services Advisory team with a focus on Private Equity investments. Shane has also run his own successful online retail business which raised £250k seed capital and he has also mentored online businesses for a number of years through Scottish Enterprise and PSYBT.
In his spare time, Shane enjoys spending time with his family or doing pretty much anything sport related. He continues to mentor online start-up businesses and has a ‘spiti’ in Crete that he tries to visit at least twice a year.
Shane never travels without… “my iPad”.
Frank Skivington - Chief Commercial Officer
Frank is responsible for sales and business development globally. Before joining Skyscanner, he spent over 15 years in senior commercial roles in media and digital media, predominantly with SMG Plc and Newsquest Media Group, and was one of the founding directors of Scotland’s then most successful digital media company, s1, from its inception in 2000, up to joining Skyscanner in 2008.
When being married with two sons allows, he can be found fighting a losing battle on the golf course, or howling in frustration at the Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Scotland rugby teams.
Frank never travels without “absolute certainty that something will go wrong. From the dog eating my passport to emergency landing, I am not the ideal travelling companion!”
Alistair Hann - Chief Technology Officer
Alistair joined Skyscanner after Zoombu, the travel search engine he co-founded with Rachel Evatt, was acquired by Skyscanner in 2010. Alistair is an active member of the Edinburgh, London and Oxford start-up communities, frequently presenting on the challenges of scaling technology and building a great product.
At home, when he isn’t playing around with tech, he learns history and languages, cooks and sails dinghies.
Alistair never travels without “Some knowledge of the language, it can help to keep me out of trouble and the locals really appreciate it”!
Adam Drake - Chief Data Officer
Adam Drake is Skyscanner’s Chief Data Officer. Adam is in charge of Skyscanner’s data science team, overseeing functions including business intelligence and data science. With data being central to Skyscanner’s products and success, Adam manages our data assets and drives the business to manage and create travel data products that benefit both travelers and the travel industry.
Previously, Adam was Chief Data Scientist and Director of Engineering at performance advertising network zanox and VP of Research and Chief Data Scientist at mobile advertising company madvertise.
Adam never travels without . . . "my smartphone, in addition to a compass, pen and whistle. Batteries often die at the most inopportune times."
Cathy Wilson - Director, Talent and Organisation Development
Cathy role focuses on enabling high performing individuals and teams. Her career has been mainly spent in the technology sector with a brief foray in to healthcare and medicine and specializes in high performance cultures and rapid growth companies.
When not working, Cathy spends her leisure time with her husband and two young sons and is frequently outdoors on either a scenic walk or a remote campsite with their beloved campervan.
Cathy never travels without “spare clothes in my hand luggage. Having led international HR operations for several companies I´m a veteran of business travel and have lost luggage too many times!”
Rachel Evatt - Director, Business Strategy and Operations
Rachel leads the Product team which includes Product Management, User Experience Design and User Advocacy. After beginning her career in venture capital and then spending several years as a management consultant, Rachel wanted to build a real product, so she co-founded Zoombu, a door-to-door travel search engine which was acquired by Skyscanner in 2010.
When not hard at work making Skyscanner even better, Rachel can usually be found on her bike. She’s a keen cyclist who enjoys racing and held the title for the Tour of Malta international race in 2012.
Rachel never travels without “My trainers, so I can always go for a run, explore a place and get off the beaten track”.
Jenny Herbison - Director, Mobile Business Strategy and Operations
As Director for Mobile, Jenny leads the strategy, execution and scalability of Skyscanner´s mobile proposition globally. Before joining Skyscanner, she worked at Ambergreen, an online marketing agency where she led client relations for key clients such as Aggreko, NSPCC, Links of London and Hotel Chocolat.
When Jenny is not at work, she is enjoying cooking, travelling, seeing live music and most summers can be found in a pair of wellington boots at music festivals.
Jenny never travels without “Google maps on my iPhone: The blue dot showing where I am in the world has been a life saver, especially when the local taxi driver doesn´t know where my hotel is!”
Filip Filipov - Head of B2B
Filip is the Head of B2B, responsible for defining and building the products to allow the travel industry to make use of the powerful APIs and data analytics and industry insights.
Filip previously held a variety of senior management positions in a wide range of industries and areas. He has worked as a consultant in New York and London on strategy and supply chain management projects, before moving into the travel industry, where he held a number of roles including his role as an associate for Travel Capitalist Ventures.
Outside of his favorite travel world, Filip enjoys reading anything related to technology, news, and business theory. He has also been dragged into the London arts scene, exploring exhibits and museums on the weekends when he is in the city.
Filip never travels without “reading material (iPad or book) and matches”.
Andy Sleigh - General Manager of Asia Pacific
Andy heads up Skyscanner’s Asia Pacific operations from the Singapore regional headquarters. He brings over 12 years of strategy and business development experience to the company, having previously held senior positions with Accenture in Singapore and Beijing.
Originally from the UK, Andy has been based in Asia for over seven years and has travelled extensively around the region and beyond. If he’s not hiking across a mountain, he is most likely to be found exploring the local food scene.
Andy never travels without “A guide to the local street food and restaurants as the best way to explore a new city is through its food”.
Carolyn Jameson - Director, General Counsel
Carolyn is responsible for all legal and public and regulatory affairs of the company globally. Before joining Skyscanner, she spent a number of years in a variety of legal and commercial roles within the proprietary and open-source software industry. She joined Skyscanner in 2013 from Wolfson Microelectronics plc, where she had held the position of Head of Legal for the previous 5 years.
Carolyn lives in Edinburgh with her husband and 3 children. When not working, she spends time cooking, walking, visiting galleries and is often found with her nose in a book.
