Air Panama Cheap Flights & Travel Deals

Air Panama was founded in 1980 as PARSA, with many services operating under the name Turismo Aéreo. Despite being founded during a time of military dictatorship, the airline grew to become one of the biggest airlines in the country. In 1989, two of the carrier's aircrafts were damaged during the U.S. invasion of Panama. As it began to acquire new planes, the company expanded throughout the 90s and eventually moved its headquarters to Albrook - Marcos A. Gelabert International Airport in Panama City.

Today the regional airline employs over 300 people and offers around 800 flights per month to more than 23 destinations within Panama and a few surrounding countries. Why Fly With Air Panama

Loyalty Programs, Discounts and Miles Promotions

Air Panama does not currently offer any loyalty programs, discounts, or miles promotions. You can, however, save money by traveling on a commercial aircraft instead of a private plane. Of course, you can always find the lowest flight prices when you book your trip at Skyscanner.

How to Check In, Seat Assignment, Leg Room, and Other Fees

When you arrive at Albrook Airport Panama to check in, be sure to have a valid personal ID card, passport, or birth certificate. The airline requires that every passenger must reconfirm his or her reservation 72 hours before the scheduled flight and arrive at the airport at least one hour before domestic departures. You must arrive at least 3 hours prior to departure for international flights.

Although some of the airline's aircrafts are smaller than its much larger competitor's fleet, many of the Air Panama reviews suggest there is a good amount of leg room on the planes that create an overall comfortable flight experience.

Air Panama is known for its low-cost flights, but it does charge fees for some additional services. The airline has an excess baggage fee, a fee for infants that require a seat, and a pet-transport fee

Baggage Allowance and Fees

For domestic flights, each passenger can have a checked bag weighing no more than 30.8lbs. The only exception is on flights to David, where passengers can check bags weighing up to 66lbs. Passengers carrying more than one bag or bags weighing more than the acceptable limit will be charged an excess baggage fee of 2% of the published fare. Extra bags are also subject to the amount of space on the aircraft and could be sent on the next available flight.

Passengers can also carry hand luggage weighing no more than 8.8lbs. on domestic flights or 17.6lbs. on flights to David. Be sure to check for specific item restrictions on the Air Panama website before you arrive at the airport.

Service On Board: In-flight Entertainment and Meals

Air Panama does not currently offer meals or entertainment on board its flights. Many of the flights arrive at the destination in about one hour, so be sure to grab a snack or drink before boarding the plane if you desire.

Child Fares/Fees, Minor Service Guidelines

The airline considers children under the age of 2 as infants who may travel for free with a paying adult. Infants requiring a seat must pay a fee of 75% of the regular adult fare. An adult traveling with more than one infant may carry one without fee but must purchase a seat for additional children.

Children between the ages of 5-12 may travel as unaccompanied minors, as long as an adult brings the child to the airport at least one hour before the flight and completes a disclaimer. There is no additional fee as long as the airline does not have to make additional expenditures.

Pet Policy

Air Panama accepts pets on domestic flights for a fee of $5.00 per container. All animals must travel in a cage or suitable container weighing no more than the acceptable baggage allowance. Passengers must provide all documents to verify the animal is current on immunizations. Only guide or rescue dogs will be allowed in the passenger cabin.
