How to Check In, Leg Room, and Seat Assignment

Jetstar Asia offers several ways for passengers to check in. The fastest and easiest way to check-in is online through the airline's website. Online check-in is free and open to nearly all passengers. Exceptions include those traveling with an infant or requiring specific assistance. Online check-in opens at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled flight and closes one hour before departure. Passengers can print their boarding pass at home and proceed to either the baggage area or the boarding gate.

Travelers can also check in at the airport kiosks in Australia and New Zealand, or they can check in at the airport ticket counter. The airline recommends arriving at the airport 2 hours prior to a domestic flight and 3 hours before international routes.

All seats on Jetstar Asia are leather with an average seat pitch of 29 inches. Passengers can select the seat of their choice, although a fee may apply. Economy Starter Plus, Economy Max passengers, and Business Class passengers can choose a standard seat for free, as long as it is available. For a little more, passengers can choose a seat at the front of the aircraft or on the exit rows for more leg room.

Baggage Allowance and Fees

Jetstar Asia allows passengers to bring one carry-on bag and one personal item on board all flights. The maximum size for carry-on luggage is 45 linear inches, and the combined weight of both the carry-on bag and personal item must not exceed 22lbs. All carry-on baggage must fit under the seat in front of you or in the overhead bin.

Those traveling with an infant may also bring infant food, portable cot, high chair, or approved car seat. Passengers who require a wheelchair can also bring it on board free of charge.

Travelers who would like to bring more than the allowed carry-on and personal item can purchase a bundle that includes a certain amount of checked baggage allowance. Bundles can include 44-66lbs. of checked baggage, but passengers can also purchase 33-88lbs. of additional baggage as needed and based on the flight.

When a customer purchases checked baggage, they can bring any number of bags as long as the combined weight is within the limit. No single bag can weigh more than 70.5lbs. The bags must also be within a certain size limit. All bags with a single side longer than 39 inches will be subject to a fee of $19.
