![]() Loyalty Programs, Discounts and Miles PromotionsKorean Air offers the SKYPASS incentive program where members can earn miles for flights and services like hotels, rental cars, and credit cards. Members can then redeem the miles for award tickets, upgrades, and many other rewards. The program is free to join, and members receive a SKYPASS card for convenience. The program has three elite club levels: Morning Calm, Morning Calm Premium, and Million Miler. Morning Calm Club members are given special privileges, including their own check-in counter, an allowance of 1 additional baggage, priority baggage handling, and access to the airline's Prestige Class lounge. Morning Calm Premium Club members will receive the same benefits, plus an accompanying passenger in the lounge and the ability to redeem off-peak mileage for peak-season travel. The Million Miler Club is the highest level in the SKYPASS program and entitles members to an exclusive hotline and special gifts. For international flights, passengers can check in until 40-60 minutes prior to take off. All passengers much have the documents required for their specific flight, which could include a passport, visa, e-ticket itinerary, and/or the credit card used for booking.
The airline also offers web and kiosk check-in for convenience. Passengers can use web check-in anywhere from 48 hours to 1 hour prior to the departure time. Korean Air accepts both printed and mobile boarding passes. If using the kiosk at the airport, passengers may check-in up to 20 minutes before departure. Nearly all customers are eligible for advanced seat selection. To choose your seat, you must contact the airline via service centers, ticketing offices, or your travel agency. You can also select preferred seating online or the mobile app. Korean Air prides itself on comfortable and well-designed seats. In Economy Class, passengers can enjoy a 17.2-inch wide seat with 34 inches of leg room. The seats can also recline at a 118-degree angle. Baggage Allowance and FeesThe number of bags and weight limits depend on individual itineraries, seating classes, and SKYPASS membership level. While the quantity can vary with each route, the maximum weight per bag is anywhere from 50-70lbs. The bags must also be smaller than 62 linear inches. Any item that is larger or weighs more than the allowed amount will be assessed a service fee that varies by departure country and destination. For domestic flights, Korean Air allows one complimentary checked bag with a maximum weight of 44lbs for Economy Class and 66lbs for Prestige Class. SKYPASS members can bring an additional bag at no extra charge with a slightly higher weight limit. ![]() Child Fares/Fees, Minor Service GuidelinesThe airline welcomes all children ages 7 days or older on board both domestic and international flights. Infants fly for free on flights within Korea but are charged 10% of the regular adult fare for international destinations. Passengers traveling with more than one infant must purchase at least one additional child-fare ticket. The airline considers children between the ages of 5 and 12 who are traveling alone to be unaccompanied minors. Unaccompanied minors must purchase a child-fare ticket on domestic flights and a standard adult ticket on international flights. Korean Air offers Unaccompanied Minor Service complimentary on domestic flights, but there is a fee on flights from other countries. The service on departures from the U.S. will cost $100. | ![]() Pet PolicyKorean Air welcomes dogs, cats, and birds on board, as long as they are within the size and weight limitations. The maximum weight for pets in the cargo department is between 72-99lbs. Individual passengers are allowed up to three pets if one is a carry-on and two travel as cargo. No animals are allowed on Boeing 737 international flights. Service dogs are also allowed on board at no additional fee, but the dog must sit in front of the passenger.
