How to Check In, Seat Assignment, and Leg Room

Royal Jordanian offers passengers three ways to check in before their flights: online, at the airport, or at the self-service kiosks. Travelers flying out of Ammam can also check in at the City Terminal up to 8 hours before the flight.

Web check-in opens 24 hours before the scheduled flight and closes 2 hours prior to departure. Online check-in can be completed for everyone in the traveling party, and passengers can choose their seats before even leaving for the airport. Travelers must have a printed board if using online check-in.

If you prefer to check in at the airport, the airline recommends arriving at least 3 hours prior to departure to account for check-in, baggage, and security. The check-in counters close 30-60 minutes before the flight based on the location, and the boarding gate closes 15 minutes before departure.

Passengers can also check themselves in at the self-service kiosks called CUSS (Common Use Self Service). There you can check-in, check baggage, select your seat, and print your boarding pass.

Economy passengers on Royal Jordanian flights can enjoy a standard seat pitch of 31"-33" on all aircraft, although the airline does allow passengers to choose their own seat. With Preferred Seat, you can choose an Exit row seat, window seat, or convenient aisle seat in moments.

Baggage Allowance and Fees

Royal Jordanian allows all passengers to bring one carry-on item and one personal item onboard all flights. Crown Class passengers can bring two carry-on pieces. Carry-on baggage must not exceed 9x16x20in. or 45 total linear inches including handles, wheels, and pockets. The maximum weight for carry-on luggage is 15.4lbs. Approved personal items include a stroller, umbrella, small camera, books, or laptop.

Passengers are also allowed a certain amount of checked baggage based on destination. On flights to all destinations except North America, Cairo, Khartoum, and KSA, Economy Class passengers can bring one bag up to 66lbs. and 62 linear inches. Crown Class passengers are allowed the same, with an additional bag up to 50lbs. On flights to or from North America, passengers can bring up to two bags each. Service On Board: In-flight Entertainment and Meals

Economy Class passengers onboard all Royal Jordanian flights can enjoy the airline's in-flight entertainment (IFE) programming on personal screens located on the back of the seat in front of them. Choose from a wide range of popular movies, TV shows, music stations, and reading materials.

The airline offers all passengers food and beverages on every flight. On long flights, enjoy full hot meals featuring local and international cuisine. On shorter flights, Economy Class passengers will receive a light snack. Kids meals are also served on medium and long flights. Crown Class passengers will enjoy a four-course meal on both medium and long flights.

Child Fares/Fees, Minor Service Guidelines

The airline allows children ages 2-12 to travel unaccompanied on Royal Jordanian gateways, although children ages 2-5 years old must fly with a Royal Jordanian Escort. The fee for the unaccompanied minor service is $60 per way and includes special care from dedicated staff members from departure until drop-off at the destination. The arrangement for Royal Jordanian Escort service must be made at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled flight.

If checked as baggage, the pet will be treated as excess baggage and cannot be included in the checked bag allowance. The maximum size of the container is 80 linear inches. The fee for pets as baggage is twice the normal excess baggage charge, and overweight or oversized containers may be subject to a fee of three or four times the normal excess baggage charge.
