From college-age backpackers to wealthy travelers, Bali has something for everyone. Use Skyscanner to help you quickly find the best deal to Bali. We compare all flight options for every airport at your destination in one simple search.
There is only one airport in Bali: Ngurah Rai International Airport, also known as Denpasar Airport or simply Bali Airport. Bali Airport (DPA) is an international airport, though there are no direct flights there from the United States. Instead, you can fly non-stop to the following airports and then catch a direct flight to Bali Denpasar Airport:
- Hamad International (DOH)
- Seoul Incheon International (ICN)
There are airports in other cities that will connect to Bali Airport, but the wait for that connection upon your arrival from the US can be quite lengthy, instead of just an hour or two.
Airlines on These Routes to Bali Airport
Airlines that fly to Bali non-stop from Qatar and Seoul include Qatar Airlines and Korean Air. If you depart from Qatar Hamad International Airport, you have your choice of indulging in a number of different international cuisines, from Arabic to European and more, within its terminal's five concourses. Qatar Airways is the busiest airline at Hamad Airport, with daily flights to Bali.
At Seoul Incheon International Airport, there are two terminals, with Korean Air flights leaving from Terminal 2. This airport is one of the world's largest and busiest ones and boasts an on-site golf course, ice skating rink, casino, indoor gardens, and private sleeping rooms.
Bali Denpasar Airport: What To Expect
There is one terminal separated into domestic and international areas at Bali Airport with eight gates. Enjoy a meal or snack at one of 13 restaurants or cafes that range from familiar eateries like Pizza Hut to more exotic choices such as The Duck King for roasted Peking Duck, seafood, or Dimsum. Seventeen various shops, two spas, and two lounges are located throughout the terminal.
Transportation From Bali Airport
An official taxi counter is open 24 hours, with availability to fixed-rate rides to your hotel or destination. It is located in the Public Hall near Domestic Arrivals. Simply tell the attendant where you are going, and you will be given a price, which is paid at that time, and a receipt is given to the driver. A public bus to downtown Bali is available at the Pick Up Zone outside both the international and domestic areas. You can also rent an automobile at one of five car rental locations at the airport.
Resort Destinations and Bali Denpasar Airport
There are at least a dozen locations within Bali that are prime vacation spots for those staying at resorts, either along the coast or within Ubud, the arts center of Bali. If you are traveling to a hotel in Ubud, it will take you anywhere from 60-70 minutes to arrive, as Ubud is in the midst of the island rather than on the coast. Some of the top resorts featuring lush tropical greenery, views of the hills and rice paddies are located in Ubud, Ungasan, and Jimbaran.
Some of the most popular beachside resorts in Bali are located in the following towns:
- Nusa Dua
A drive to most of these villages from Bali Denpasar Airport will only take about 20 minutes.
