Driving conditions near Cape Town International Airport
The city center of Cape Town is an 11-mile drive from the airport along the N2 highway. In good traffic conditions, this should take around 20 minutes, but beware of rush hour traffic in the mornings and evenings.
Conveniently, there is a BP gas station right at the entrance of the airport, and several others on the way into and throughout the city.

Cape Town is quite easy to navigate, having been designed along a fairly regular grid pattern, although most of the smaller streets are one-way. There are many free and low-priced garages. Street parking tends to have a fee, but there is no fine for going over the allotted time. There is notably little car crime in the city center.
