The Khlong Hae Floating Market is in Hat Yai too. Vendors sell their goods from their traditional boats which are docked along the canal. Sellers offer traditional Thai food too. The market is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. It's a good idea to have some cash on hand for the market. 

Also, Khao Nam Khang National Park is an hour and fifteen minutes away. Hikers can enjoy walks through the rain forest and see two waterfalls and a historic tunnel. The tunnel was designed as a Communist insurgent safe house for up to 200 people. Original plans included a kitchen, conference room, and radio room.
