Car rental broker Holiday Autos was launched in 1987 with British entrepreneur Clive Jacobs at the helm. Jacobs noticed that the car rental market at the time focussed on business travelers, with a gap in the market for tourists. Jacobs cornered the leisure market by offering a pre-paid, fully-inclusive car rental product, and as a result turned over £1 million in the first year of operation.
Since then Holiday Autos has gone from strength to strength and award to award. By 2003, when Jacobs sold the company to Lastminute.com, Holiday Autos had nearly 70 service and innovation awards under its belt. Holiday Autos continues to wow the judges, and recently performed a hat trick at the Globe Travel Awards by winning the title of Best Car Rental in 2011, 2012, and 2013.
It's not surprising that Holiday Autos has made a name for itself as an innovator in the car rental market. One of their more popular schemes is Carbonwise, which allows customers to off-set their carbon emissions when they rent a car. Other services also include motorhome rental, van rental, and chauffeur-driven cars for those looking for a bit of luxury from their rental experience.
As part of Sabre Holdings (the company that owns Travelocity), Holiday Autos has been able to build up a relationship with some of the world's leading car rental brands such as Alamo, Avis and Hertz. Through their partners, Holiday Autos boasts 30,000 car rental outlets throughout the world, offering customers an unrivaled choice of destinations and suppliers.
