This oceanside airport near Daytona National Speedway is primarily used for aviation training, but a handful of major commercial carriers offer a limited selection of departures from here. American Eagle, Delta and JetBlue all have regular service from Daytona Beach Airport, and there is additional seasonal service available from American Airlines and Sun Country Airlines.
Destination options are pretty limited from Daytona Beach Airport. The most popular flight is Delta's connection from here to Atlanta, from which you can catch direct and one-stop flights to destinations all over the world. American Eagle flies to Charlotte from here, and JetBlue flies to JFK Airport in New York.
Additional seasonal service is available from American Airlines (to Charlotte) and Sun Country (to Gulfport-Biloxi). These added flights are generally offered during the peak summer travel season, but the weather is actually more pleasant in the region during the fall and winter months.
Daytona Beach Airport is very close to Daytona Beach, close enough to be in walking distance if the weather is nice and you don't have heavy luggage (about three miles). It's also located very close to Interstate 95 at the exit to Route 400 (turn onto S. Clyde Morris Boulevard exiting in the eastbound direction).
The local Votran bus system has regular service to the airport that runs every half hour most days, but be aware that you may not be able to get large luggage on board. A variety of private shuttles and taxi services are also available.
The airport opens at 3:30 AM. Both short-term and long-term parking are available for a fee. If you are being dropped off, the first 15 minutes of parking in the short-term lot is free. Longer parking in each lot costs $1 for every extra half hour, and you can park for $11 per day or $65 per week in the long-term lot.
Like most airports, Daytona Beach Airport no longer has lockers, but most of the airlines allow their passengers to check in their luggage a few hours early. You can check your bags in six hours early if you're flying with Delta or JetBlue, and four hours early if you're flying with American.
Though it's a small airport with a relatively small amount of flights, Daytona Beach Airport regularly gets rave reviews from passengers for its comfort, cleanliness, attractive appearance and ease of getting in and out.
Free WiFi is available throughout the entire airport. Additional services include a business center with computers and charging stations (after security near Gate 6), a meeting and banquet room that can be reserved, and additional charging stations scattered throughout the airport.
Aside from the usual snack and gift shop, food is available from a few different sources. There is a coffee stand (Java Moon Cafe), a snack and pastry stand (Sugar Mill Cafe), a bar (Junction Daytona Beach), an Outback Steakhouse and a Houligan's.
