Flying Out of San Diego
San Diego has three airports for passengers to choose from: San Diego International Airport; Palomar Airport and Rodriguez Tijuana. SAN is the most convenient for travellers to reach, but depending on where you are flying to the other airports might be better options.
San Diego International Airport
San Diego International Airport is the largest airport in the area and is 3 miles north-west of downtown San Diego, California. The airport carries about 50,000 passengers each day and has nonstop flights to Canada, United Kingdom, Mexico and Japan. San Diego is a focus city for Alaska Airlines and Southwest Airlines.
If you are visiting Carlsbad or North San Diego County, Palomar Airport will be the easiest airport to fly back to Los Angeles. The airport offers multiple daily flights to and from LAX that are operated by United Express / SkyWest.
Rodriguez Tijuana Airport
Rodriguez Tijuana Airport is an ideal airport to fly from if you are travelling to Mexico or Latin America. The airport serves various airlines such as Aeromexico, Interjet and Volaris with fares considerably cheaper than their American counterparts. Plus the airport has more flight times and a wider variety of destinations in Latin America to choose from than San Diego Airport.

Amtrak and COASTER Trains
