Airports in Wisconsin

Wisconsin's largest airport is the General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee. The Dane County Regional Airport in Madison actually sees the second-largest number of annual passengers, outpacing the other international airports in Green Bay and Appleton. The Central Wisconsin Airport serves the tourist areas around Wausau and Wisconsin Rapids.

General Mitchell International Airport (Milwaukee)

Located just south of downtown Milwaukee, General Mitchell sees a lot of added traffic from commuters headed to the area north of Chicago, as it is often a quicker and more convenient option than going through O'Hare or Midway. Most of the major carriers serve this airport and flights are available to points all over the United States. Regular international service is also available to Toronto and Guadalajara, with added seasonal charter service to points throughout Mexico provided by Apple Vacations and Funjet. Southwest has the majority of flights originating from General Mitchell.

Dane County Regional Airport (Madison)

Dane County is a domestic hub of significant size, seeing almost two million passengers per year. American Eagle, Delta, Frontier and United provide departures to major cities throughout the country, with Delta having the largest range of options of the bunch.

Green Bay-Austin Straubel International Airport

Green Bay's airport sees more cargo pass through than passengers, but it does have regular flights to several major cities in the east: Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit and Minneapolis-St. Paul. For any departure other than Chicago, you'll need to take Delta; American Eagle and United Express also have flights from here to the Windy City.

Appleton International Airport

The local Air Wisconsin service operates out of Appleton as do Allegiant Air, Delta and United. Most of the airline departures here are limited to Atlanta, Chicago, Minneapolis or Detroit. However, Allegiant has flights from here to Las Vegas, St. Petersburg, Orlando and Phoenix.
