Cheap Flights to Bremen

As with much of the rest of Germany, the capital city here shares its name with the state. The main commercial airport serving the state is Bremen Airport, located just south of the city. If you're flying in to Bremen, you'll almost certainly be landing here, as the next closest commercial airports are over 100 miles away in Langenhagen and Hamburg. You can find deals with a variety of airlines that regularly fly here, but Ryanair and Germania often offer particularly attractive rates as they both use Bremen as one of their German hubs.

Bremen High and Low Seasons

You'll encounter the same annual tourist patterns just about anywhere you go in Germany. Summer is the high season, with crowds from both Europe and around the world traveling through the country enjoying its sights and culture. Things come to a head in August, the traditional month for many Europeans to take their big extended vacation of the year. Travel and the weather cool off in the fall, both plunging into hibernation for the winter months. Traffic and the weather begin warming up again in late March, but won't hit peak levels until sometime in June.

Bremen does not see quite as much tourism as some other parts of Germany, but it is still a very interesting place to visit (and to bargain-hunt for vacation deals during the peak summer months). Some major annual events include the massive Sixdays bike race in January, the samba-themed Bremen Carnival in February, the Osterwiese spring fair in March, the Vegesack Harbour Festival in June, the Bremen Music Festival in September, and Friemarkt Fair in October. As with much of the rest of Germany, Christmas markets and celebrations also usually draw large crowds in the weeks leading up to the holiday.
