Cheap flights to Burbank
Burbank is one city among the dozens of communities in Southern California. Famous for being the place where The Tonight Show was taped for over four decades, the city is home to several media companies and film studios. Flights to Burbank arrive at Burbank Bob Hope Airport (BUR), which is situated in the northwest part of the city and serves Burbank and the neighboring communities of Glendale, Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Pasadena. The Portal of the Folded Wings Shrine to Aviation is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the final resting place of a dozen aviation pioneers. The Shrine is located on the grounds of Pierce Brothers Valhalla Cemetery in the immediate vicinity of the airport.
Burbank Bob Hope Airport
United, American Airlines, Alaska, JetBlue, Delta and Southwest all have cheap flights to Burbank. The airport is small with only two terminals, but it does contain various restaurants and coffee shops along with a police station, a newsstand and several ATMs and retail stores. To the east, adjacent to airport parking, is a lot with several more eateries. Aside from the shuttles some hotels send for their guests, it's also possible to find taxis, shuttles and limousines for hire at the airport pedestrian islands. The average cost of a taxi ride to downtown Burbank is $20. Bob Hope Airport is a stop on several local bus lines, and across the street from the airport, there is a train station offering local train service as well as access to national Amtrak routes. That can be reached via an elevated covered walkway, which is located next to the valet parking lot in front of the airport exits.
With its close proximity to the movie capital of the world, it makes sense that Burbank's principal draws would be entertainment-related. The Universal Studios theme park is just south of the city, but an authentic movie studio tour experience can be had in Burbank at Warner Brothers Studios, featuring back lots and actual film sets. Less than a mile from the studios is Bob's Big Boy, an iconic 1950s-era diner that is part of a Glendale-based chain of family restaurants. Several film and television productions have shot on-location there. They maintain their appeal by hosting a classic car show on Friday evenings and car hop service on weekends. Another option is to attend a television show taping that requires a live audience; studios often make tickets to these available at no cost. Bob Hope Airport is situated amid residential neighborhoods, but there are several hotels immediately to the east. Visitors can also find accommodations in downtown Burbank and in the southernmost section of the city close to neighboring Hollywood.
