Although it does not currently offer service to any international destinations, the airport’s name was officially changed to Pensacola International in the fall of 2011. In the same year, it underwent a major terminal expansion effort that cost $35 million. The National Naval Aviation Museum is a cool place to visit while in town. It houses a stunning 4,000 aircraft and is one of the premiere military museums in the country. Pensacola’s famed beaches include Santa Rose Island, Johnson Beach, and Gulf Islands.
