Cheap Flights to Wyoming

From the Grand Tetons and the Jackson Hole valley to Old Faithful Geyser and Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming is filled with natural wonders. Wyoming has nine commercial airports, but the majority of flights to Wyoming end up at either Jackson Hole Airport (JAC) or Casper-Natrona County International Airport (CPR).

Flights to Wyoming

Frontier Airlines offers cheap flights to Wyoming that arrive at Jackson Hole Airport, the only airfield to be located entirely within a national park. The exposed wood detailing of the terminal’s dramatic façade makes a striking contrast to the snowcapped Tetons, and in 2014, the American Institute of Architects honored the terminal’s design with a special award. The terminal has three cafes and two souvenir shops, and passengers board their planes from the ground, climbing steps to enter aircraft. Transportation to nearby Jackson is provided by buses, taxis and private limo services.

Casper–Natrona County International Airport serves cargo carriers as well as commercial and charter passenger carriers. Passenger carriers include Allegiant Air, Delta Connection, SkyWest Airlines and United Express. The airfield’s passenger terminal contains a restaurant, a souvenir shop, rental car services and a U.S. Customs office for passengers arriving from Canada. Some hotels in Casper offer shuttle service to and from the airport, but the only available public transportation options into town are taxis.

Attractions in Wyoming

About 2,500 acres of alpine terrain make Jackson Hole Mountain Resort one of the top venues in North America for both downhill and cross-country skiing and snowboarding. In the warmer months, visitors have the opportunity to hop ski-lift gondolas and be taken to the top of the mountains where they can hike the scenic trails. Teton Village at the base of the peaks is a charming mountain hamlet where you’ll find stores selling mountaineering gear and clothing.

On the southern end of the valley, approximately 10 miles from the Jackson Hole Airport, lies the town of Jackson itself. While the town boasts gourmet restaurants and sophisticated boutiques, it’s proud of its Old West heritage. Every day except Sunday between Memorial Day and Labor Day there’s a staged shootout in the town square that begins promptly at 6:00 pm. Jackson is only an hour’s drive from Yellowstone National Park, so flights to Wyoming that land at the nearby airfield are a practical way to get to one of America’s most beloved wilderness recreation areas.
