Port Douglas is a jumping off point for many of the Great Barrier Reef snorkel tours. It's full of budget accommodations and eateries as well as other services for the vacationing traveler.
great accommodation for every budget, cafes and restaurants, walk everywhere, Saturday market in the park, nice beaches, trips out to the reef, heaps to see and do
Very relaxed town. Wonderful dining, lots of possibilities to visit the Great Barrier Reef (diving, snorkeling, sailing, ...). Perfect weather conditions!
Beautiful seaside town with great restaurants and good beaches. The main drag of the town is filled with places you will be dying to eat and and torn between going back for more and trying the next new delicious place next door. Not sure what it is like off season during the winter, but certainly worth a look. The drive there from Cairns is scenic and breathtaking.
