Uvita is the larger town in the area. There are two grocery stores, two banks with ATMs, a tourist office, lots of restaurants, and a Saturday morning market. The entrance to Playa Uvita is on the coast and many companies in the area offer whale and dolphin adventures.
Had a wonderful experience working at the Envision festival and exploring Uvita. Small town with friendly folks and lovely beach areas.
Downtown Uvita isn't the largest town in Costa Rica but it's a quaint oasis on the west coast. I stopped here for a quick bite at the only restaurant. It was the best food I had during my stay!
Go up the road a bit to the waterfall and stay with Patricio at La Cascada Verde. Very nice hostel style traveler lodge with great organic food.
