Sosua is a little resort town by the beach with night life, bars and restaurants. Mostly you will see local tourists, very few gringos. We stayed in Puerto Plata but hanged out at the beach here and took an hour boat trip to snorkel off the shore.
Beautiful beach, lined with small bars, restaurants and shops. The nightlife is unique, especially for men!
Wow, what an adventure this town is. It's a mix of families and single men. Lots of bars, and they don't close until 4-5am, depends on the mood of the crowd. I love it!!
Small beach side town in the Dominican Republic, going through a lot of transformations. Only a few hotels are left, most tourists now come to rent villas and oceanfront condos, the self catering way. Sosua used to be a Jewish settlement born out of WWII, still has the old synagogue and a museum showing its past. Lot of mixed reviews, mostly biased by other competing destinations. This could be called an expat`s dream, since there`s more foreigners there than in most other Dominican towns.
