Nadi is a quiet little local town on the west coast of Fiji island. Not much to do in downtown except a few shops, market, bank, bus station and some restaurants. Most tourists arrive at the airport here to go onto the islands where most resorts are.
Nadi was nice. As an Aussie I got chased by local indians to buy aussie stuff and other stuff. Overall my view was Local Fiji's are really nice, local indians just want to haggle and sell you stuff. If you want beach I would suggest going to the outer islands. But nice place
Not much to do in Nadi, but it is a transport hub if youa re trying to get anywhere else in the country. Shops all have a tourist premium, but if you are not going to Suva you are stuck shopping here.
Although parts of the city look very run down and third world, the people are very warm and inviting. We would just be walking around on the street and people would say Bula (hello) to use. You'll probably fly into Nadi on any long distance flight.
