A great little suburb of Iceland that many of the local live in. A working port and Viking inspired buildings give it a flavor that feels old world.

Hafnarfjörður is a large town by Icelandic standards, located on the coast just south of Reykjavik. With its relative size comes plenty of attractions, such as museums and geothermal springs, as well as a fairly built up industrial center. The town has done a nice job of marketing itself to tourists as "the elf town in the lava" and you'll find brochures for it around Reykjavik and in the airport.
