We were on our way to Milan but then we have decided to visit Verona as well it's a home for Romeo and Juliet, plus we wanted to see the famous Arena Di Verona. So, we got there pretty late and it was a summer but it was already dark. It was actually kind of even more beautiful as they turned all the lights on. I was really amazed by the Arena Di Verona, which is a quite big and very, very historical. We could not get into it, because the Opera already started but we were just fine being outside and looking at this Arena as well. The only problem was the bathroom. We could not find it anywhere, and the one that we finally found was closed... But you have some really good, not expensive restaurants right across this famous Arena and you can sit there and just keep looking at it as much as you want. Had a fantastic time.

If you fly into Milan, Italy - head to Verona on train! It’s halfway to Venice, I believe, and a beautiful stop! It is the home of Romeo and Juliet and has a nice, Italian charm to it.

This is a city in northern Italy’s Veneto region, with a medieval old town built between the meandering Adige River. It’s famous for being the setting of Shakespeare’s "Romeo and Juliet." Gets very busy during the summer when the tourists have to see the balcony.

The city of Romeo and Juliet is as romantic as its legend. Colorful buildings lined with flora beckon you to photograph them. Intimate, little-known osterias welcome locals that regularly drop in, befriending the occasional tourist. Cobblestone passages host neat tables that await evening festivities. If you can make it out of the main tourist area (or even if that's as far as you get), it really is a neat city.
