Great little fishing villiage that is a jumping point to four breaks for surfing nearby.
Nice beach, just about an hour thirty minutes from casa Sophie, Great Restaurants.
30kms from the Costa Rican border, is the untouched San Juan del Norte on the Caribbean coast. Undeveloped and remote, it’s the polar opposite to San Juan del Sur, the most popular destination in Nicaragua, a short drive away. La Flor beach is a turtle nesting sanctuary. Wooded forest dramatically opens up to expansive soft white powder-sand beach and shallow Caribbean waters. The entire morning, I am alone, spotting more turtles than humans. This is my best insider spot in Nicaragua. San Juan del Sur is a long crescent bay, outlined by shallow mountains, dotted with the homes of wealthy expats. Hike to the hilltop Christ the Redeemer statue for great views. The surfing scene is famous here.
An interesting little town. Lots of stuff to do, Even if you're not a surfer!
