Pisac is a town located near Cusco, famous for their outdoor market. Rows and rows of shops are selling almost everything. But try to shop with a focus. Sometimes 'baby alpaca' can be 'maybe alpaca'. Good place to shop for souvenirs. There's a good silver jewelry shop, where they demonstrate how to recognize real/fake silver.

Pisac was full of color and small town charm. The city was home to a popular outdoor market held every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday that we stopped at along our tour of the Sacred Valley. There were also Inca ruins and numerous agricultural terraces in the hills of Pisac from the Inca period that we were told were still used today.

One of the many Incan ruins in the Sacred Valley. You can see the clear remains of the impressive terraces that allowed for the ingenous Incan Agriculture system that took advantage of the mountains to create different microclimates thanks to changing altitude. Pisac also has a fairly well known market that sells artisanal crafts several times a week

Land of Sacred Valley means literally whatever we put into the soil, it grows! Full of fertile land around this Andes region.
