Of course, when you are planning to travel to the Philippines and stay in Davao, one of your first questions will be how much it costs to stay in one of the many hotels in Davao. When you are traveling to Davao in the Philippines, the hotel room prices span a wide range.
On the low end, prices of one to three star hotels can range from as little as $5 per night up to about $50 a night. Four and five star hotel rooms range from about $50 to $100 per night on average. Because Davao is one of the major cities on the southernmost island of the Philippines, there are several four star hotels to choose form in the area. Some of these hotels include the Seda Abreeza, the Marco Polo, the Apo View Hotel, and the Waterfront Insular Hotel. The Seda Abreeza Hotel offers a casual dining restaurant as well as a gym and a large indoor pool.
The Marco Polo Hotel, on the other hand, offers five different restaurants and lounges with a wide variety of cuisines. They also offer an extensive in-room dining menu. If you want to try one of the most delicious drinks on the island, be sure to check out the Marco Polo’s Silk Road Iced Coffee.
Davao offers several types of hotels to choose from. The standard chain hotel options are available including the Park Inn by Radisson and the Ritz Hotel at Golden Oases. And then there are also the unique and one-of-a-kind hotels like the Marco Polo and the Apo View hotel. Choosing these options can give you an experience unlike any other on the islands or elsewhere in the world.
People are friendly, but that’s about it. Bad infrastructure, dirty, like most of The Philippines. The place looks run down except for some shopping malls and a couple of decent hotels.
I lived in Davao for 6 months in 2013. I moved here because I met a very special woman and wanted to have some time to get to know her better. I had some great western friends here as well. While I had a good time, I can't recommend Davao or the Philippines in general as a place to spend much time. The people are awesome and English is widely spoken but overall the food is deplorable (which is surprising for asia), its fairly dirty, there's a complete lack of architecture and design, and too be honest I never found any culture at all. I kept thinking that I was missing something but after more than six months I can say that shopping malls are the center of culture in the Philippines and that should say it all.
A very nice place to live if you want a peaceful and near beaches. Taxi drivers are honest so no worries if you want to go places to places. Food are so inexpensive and lots of fresh seafoods to buy. Fruits are everywhere and so cheap also. Jeepnies are the number transportation here. people are very accommodating and very welcoming.
davao is one of the best cities in the philippines to visit, so much to do and see there
