A busy mix of over-development and traditional fishing village. This is a good place to come if you like all of the conveniences on your doorstep, or perhaps have a young family and need to keep them entertained. It's very built up with lots of hotels, cafes and restaurants to chose from. The beach at Armação de Pêra extends right down a long sweeping coast of other beaches, as far as Gale. The village is apparently one of the last places in the region where fishing boats are launched from the actual beach.
This definitely not the best place in Algarve, too much construction, too many people. The beach is pleasant , but also too crowded.
Lovely long beach. Great for a morning jog. Lots of amenities and seafront restaurants. A bit built up behind the town but the beach is great.
