Bran is the site of the notorious Dracula's Castle. Dracula never spent more than a few nights there but it's a dramatic fortification nonetheless. The castle dominates a mountain pass that was crucial to the defense of Transylvania. The Romanian royal family also used it as a summer house. The town of Bran is pretty much given over the tourism and as such it won't be hard to find food or souvenirs.
Bran is a great destination - if only for the camp value too. Dracula's Castle is a great place to poke around and it is really a lot of fun and interesting. It is pretty old school and you can wander around at your own - which is terrific! There's some nice places to eat and the usual souvenir shops. All in all - a good place to visit while visiting this part of Romania.
