When in have to see Madrid. Although it isn't my favorite compared to other cities, it's worth it for the museums alone. Nice for backpackers, too.

Madrid is crazy! It’s an imperial city, the rooftops are a must do, to enjoy some of the best views and sunsets you will ever see. Just going around as seeing the huge buildings in each corner is something that will amaze you

I studied abroad here for 4 months in the Fall and it was the best time of my life! Incredible history and culture throughout every inch of the city. Very clean and safe. There is something for everyone, it’s impossible to get bored! Malasaña is a very fun neighborhood. Plaza Mayor has great food spots. Try the tortilla at Juana la Loca, it’s Madrid-famous!

You have culture (Prado museum, Tyssen, flamenco, Palacio de Oriente, live music, etc.), good food (Spanish omelette, Spanish ham, Manchego cheese, etc.), a very well communicated city (one of the best metros and buses in the world), shopping area (Fuencarral), Soccer, etc
