Seville is the capital of the autonomous community of Andalusia situated in Spain. It is home to the only river port in the country; said port is housed on the Guadalquivir River, which empties into the Atlantic Ocean. Tourists come to Seville to enjoy the unique Southern Spanish culture and internationally renowned festivals.
Part of Seville's appeal is its Mediterranean climate, which creates mild winters and hot summers. Thus one of the best times of year to visit this city is from November to February, which are as warm as many other areas' summer months.
The two festivals that draw the most traffic are Holy Week and the Seville Fair, which occur two weeks apart in the springtime around Easter. Dancing and revelry are a must during this time, as are the consumption of tapas, gazpacho and magdalenas.
Most hotels are located on the east side of the Guadalquivir and north of the University of Seville. This area is also where many historical buildings and tourist attractions can be found.
Seville has more hostels than most cities, with many featuring unique architecture, cozy furnishings and proximity to local landmarks:

It's about a 2 1/2 hour drive but it's a fantastic city with great bars, loads of good restaurants and a magnificent cathedral. Be warned, it's unbelievably hot in summer!
Interesting throw back in time city for me. With horse carriages and majestic architecture.
What an amazing city. Wonderful authentic food. Great culture. Very easy to get around.
