A small town home to Sukhothai Historical Park. The town has a few budget hotels and restaurants to support the tourist that come through to visit the ruins of the once-mighty temples and stupas.
Tourist must came and visit the Thai Temple, amazing and unique arts and design of the temple.
Lovely ancient capital city of Thailand features many old monuments. A great place to visit for art, history and religion. Oh, the photo opportunities are incredible here. Research for when festivals occur as well. I don't think there is anywhere to stay in the immediate area. Closest major city is Phitsanulok. Has a regional airport as well as being on a major train line.
Sukhothai Historical Park ; The UNESCO World Heritage Site in the North of Thailand. And one thing do not miss : light&sounds on Loy Krathong's Day. It will be held on the full moon in November every year to make a respect to Goddess of the river. This is one of the biggest festival of the year. ^^
