My wife and I had a blast going through the city from Deira to JBL, it was awesome... beautiful beaches, lovely places to see - the Dubai Museum, Mall of the Emirates and the sheer imposing presence of the Burj Khalifa was frigging epic.

Enjoyed my stay. Not ideal for solo female travelers coz a lot of hotels might turn you away. There are a lot of activities to do that are relatively affordable.
