Belfast is a mid-sized city that happens to be one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United Kingdom. With so many historical buildings, arts and cultural landmarks, this city is a must-see for any visitors to Ireland.
Belfast has been continually settled for at least five thousand years. Most notably, it was a key theater for The Troubles, a period of conflict that engulfed Northern Ireland in the 20th century. Nowadays the city is a hub of tourism, boasting a mild temperate climate conducive to the cultivation of dozens of parks and the world-renowned Botanic Gardens.
Most hotels in Belfast run through the city center following the west side of the River Lagan.
Hostels can be found around the Queen's University and offer quite affordable rates for backpackers and students:

A trendy little city, great for culture and shopping and an ideal weekend destination. Check out the Titanic Belfast museum and the Victoria Shopping Centre.
Small city with lots of great eateries. Sight wise there're only a handful in the city center.. venture a little further and you'll find some great places to visit.
Belfast, in my opinion, is one of the most underrated cities in the UK, if not all of Europe. It is a creative city, full of character and charm. There is so much to do and see too! Explore the rich tapestry of its history, from the impact of The Troubles to its maritime roots. Discover the stunning beauty of the surrounding countryside, which has inspired fantasy worlds such as Narnia and Game of Thrones. A vibrant, bustling city. Don't miss it!
Take a day away on the Stena Line to Belfast and visit The Giant's Causeway, The Titanic exhibition etc... It is fun just being on the boat and very easily achieved. Ferry is from Cairnryan about 50 minutes from Park Cottage.
