Best big small town in Texas!!! You can't beat the people and it's a great place to raise a family. We love the military base here and all of those who come thru are welcome. It's one of those places that if you leave its a good chance that you'll come back!
San Angelo is a very friendly sleepy town in West Texas. The Concho River meanders through this historical city and is a nice place for a walk. Fort Concho is the best preserved Army Fort in America. It's worth the time to tour the Fort and see what life was like when Indian's occupied this area. Mexican Food is better here than anywhere you will find in the country. Try Fuente's Downtown, or Henry's Diner on Sherwood way for a life changing plate of mexican food. Zentners Daughter, Western Skies, and Lowake Steak Houses are all incredible. Lowake is a road trip but worth the drive. Miss Hattie's is a downtown brothel that was locked up in the 40's by the Texas Rangers and reopened as a museum just as it was when the doors were locked, dont miss this unique museum! Concho Street is where you will find it and several very upscale gift shops. If you are on a budget and looking for the best Chinese food in town make a short trip to the San Angelo airport and eat at the only restaurant there, you will not be dissapointed.
