The best time to grab deals tends to be right after major holidays, as most families are winding down from recent vacations and won't be traveling for a bit. Look at most of January, the period between Labor Day and Thanksgiving, and the period between Thanksgiving and Christmas for the best deals.
Lodgings in Orlando
The main point of arrival for most passengers will be Orlando International Airport. The lone hotel directly at the airport is the Hyatt Regency, a 4-star property that tends to run around $150 to $200 USD per night at rack rates.
There's a very large cluster of hotels just north of the airport along S. Semoran Blvd., most of which offer free shuttle rides to and from. These include most of the higher-end chains such as Holiday Inn, Hampton, Marriott and Embassy Suites.
Of course, there are many hotels and motels scattered throughout the city. As you might imagine, most are centered around Disney World. Options in the park area usually run from around $40 for budget properties to $100-150 for the more upscale locations, though expect these rates to triple when there are lots of tourists in town. Disney also has a number of themed hotels and resorts directly on their property, which tend to be in the range of $150 to $550 per night.
