Because of that, it is quite likely your flight from Shanghai to Tokyo will be through Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport. Annually, nearly 40.5 million passengers travel through this airport.

Shanghai Pudong International Airport

While the Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport is a major travel hub for regional flights in China and Asia, the Shanghai Pudong International Airport focuses more on long distance international travel. However, some regional flight options, including those to Tokyo, are offered through this airport. Shanghai Pudong International Airport serves around 66 million people a year.
