Getting to Los Angeles is easy; there are 3 airports that are located in prime LA locations. LAX is the largest airport, and is located on the west side of the city just north of El Segundo. Burbank airport is on the northeast side of the city, and is the closest airport to Hollywood. John Wayne Airport is located in Orange County just south of the city.
Hotels are in abundance in Los Angeles, but no matter where you choose to book be sure to also have a rental car. Los Angeles is full of amazing things to do and see, but having a car is definitely needed. Luckily, you can get great deals both on your room as well your rental car here at Skyscanner!
Ready to have fun on your visit to Los Angeles? Then kick things off with a morning hike of beautiful Runyon Canyon. A favorite of locals, Runyon Canyon provides a great workout where you not only will get to see some of the best views of the city, but also will be able to workout alongside some of the stars of the small and big screen! Be sure to wear sunscreen and bring water (and maybe your cellphone for some selfies), because it can get hot out there!
After a nice morning workout grab a shower then head to Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles for an LA take on the classic Southern dish. With locations in Hollywood, Pasadena, Long Beach, and more, Roscoe’s is close to wherever you are staying. Highly recommended is Scoe’s Special #1, a 1/4 chicken with their world famous waffles.
Head to Hollywood Boulevard after your delicious breakfast to check out the famous Hollywood Stars, awarded to entertainers by the Hollywood Walk of Fame. If you’re lucky enough, your visit to Los Angeles will coincide with a Star Ceremony! After checking out the Walk of Fame, head into Hollywood & Highland, the indoor/outdoor shopping mall that also houses the world famous Chinese Theatre. Also, just across the street is Disney’s El Capitan Theatre, a fantastic place to see the newest movies that are out.
There are always great things to do on Hollywood Boulevard!
As your afternoon in Los Angeles is beginning, head up the road from Hollywood to Pasadena to check out the bar and restaurant scene on Colorado Boulevard. Whether you check out the Paseo Colorado or explore Old Pasadena, there are plenty of options no matter what tickles your fancy. Great happy hour options abound, so be sure to take advantage of the 2-for-1s!
In LA as night falls, the city gets up! Throw on some comfortable shoes for dancing, and get out there! The Conga Room downtown, Beacher’s Madhouse at the Roosevelt Hotel, Perch, and Zanzibar in Santa Monica are all great options for those who love the club scene.
Need a light night bite to eat after you have danced the night away? Make sure to stop at Leo’s Tacos, a small taco truck located at the intersection of Venice & La Brea that is home to the best taco in all of Los Angeles (and maybe the country!). Be sure to have the al pastor tacos with no pineapple, and squeeze some lime juice all over it for an authentic street taco experience you won’t find anywhere else.
If there’s one thing that Los Angeles does better than anyone in the country, it’s brunch! After a morning yoga session (you’re in LA, it’s mandatory) head over to The Griddle Café on Sunset Boulevard for their incredible pancakes. With a multitude of pancake options ranging from Red Velvet to Blueberry, the mouth-watering options will blow you away!
Pancakes are the breakfast of champions
Work off those calories by heading to Paradise Cove in Malibu, one of the best beaches in all of Southern California. Take a jog on the beach, do some surfing, swim with the seals, or just sunbathe on the soft sands on the shores. Be sure to use your sunscreen!
As your afternoon winds down head south from Malibu to Third Street Promenade, Santa Monica’s famous outdoor shopping mall. Walk the Promenade and enjoy the buskers as they play their instruments and entertain you, then head over to the famous Santa Monica Pier to enjoy the sunset! If you’re heading to Santa Monica in the summertime, there may even be live music on the beach!
Head back to your hotel to freshen up, because you only have one more night on the town! South Bay is full of great bars, from Manhattan Beach to Palos Verdes and everywhere in between. Saint Rocke, Hermosa Saloon, and many more offer cold drinks at hot night spots! Order up a couple of drinks and enjoy a night of music, dancing, and more to wind down your trip to Los Angeles. Friendly locals abound in the South Bay, so don’t feel shy and introduce yourself. You never know who you’ll meet over a beer or two or three!
