In Closing

Long winter months are reason enough to start thinking about your next beach getaway. However, don’t let low temperatures stop you. You can still visit these beautiful beaches in winter, and with the added benefit of thin crowds, better room choices, and off-season rates. Whether you are one big happy family, a couple, or budget travelers, the US shoreline, is more beautiful than ever. See for yourselves, but please take the necessary precautions to keep yourself and those around you safe.

How long is the US shoreline?

While there is no consensus, and complexities of geometry and geography make it difficult to come up with an exact number, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration estimate it at 95,471 miles.

What state has the most beautiful beach?

This, of course, depends on your personal preference and “official” determining factors such as water temperature and clarity, sand color and softness, beach safety and accessibility, and views. For example, if by most beautiful, you mean a beach that most resembles a tropical one, according to CNBC, it’s Kailua Beach Park in Kailua Bay, Oahu, Hawaii. If by beautiful, you mean a beach with dunes and marshlands, then Coast Guard Beach in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, takes the prize.

Are beaches safe to visit during a pandemic?

According to the CDC, when individuals, as well as local government agencies, take the recommended measures such as social distancing, use of face coverings, and avoidance of shared items with people they don’t live with, the risk of transmission while visiting beaches during a pandemic can be lowered.
