Vancouver, Canada, is a gateway city to travel opportunities all over the world, but that’s not all. From Granville Island to Gastown, to Stanley Park, Vancouver offers something for everybody.

But many visits to Vancouver are quick stops from point A to point B. Cruise lines depart, bound for natural wonders up and down the west coast. International flights are often hundreds of dollars cheaper as compared to flying from Seattle, Portland, or Boise.

These transitional stays demand good accommodations near the Port, and the same hotels are often good choices for long-term stays. Here are Skyscanner’s top recommendations for 2019.

When to Visit Port of Vancouver

Vancouver is not famous for its fair weather, but rather for the beauty its frequent rains and temperate climate provide. Even its nicer months (July and August) are subject to frequent and unpredictable squalls or cold waves.

You’ll get your best ticket prices in November, January, and February, though if you’re staying in town you will want to pack winter clothes and buy a weatherproof coat.
