How To Get Discount Disneyland Tickets in 2019

Disneyland is a perfect destination for families and groups alike! There are several ways to get discounts you just have to check. Read more to see if you qualify for Disneyland's many discounts.

As one of the top theme parks in the United States, getting discounts to Disneyland is easier than you think. The discounts can be small, more or less 5% but a discount is better than no discount.

Before deciding where to look and what type of Disneyland ticket to buy, there are a few things to consider.

What to Know Before Looking for Discounts

If you’re looking for a discount on a one-day ticket, there is a high chance you won’t find anything. These tickets are almost never discounted but it never hurts to check. But don’t check for too long.

With that comes the question of how many days you will actually need a ticket. Disneyland Resort has two theme parks: Disneyland Park and Disney’s California Adventure. To get the best experience of both of these parks, is to get at least get a two-day ticket.

When you start looking for your ticket discounts, don’t believe everything you see. Some ads will have you convinced of saving 50% when that’s not necessarily the case. Also, there are many scammers on the internet so be wary. Of course, it’s heavily advised to only buy from Disneyland Authorized Ticket Sellers.

Once you found a place to purchase your tickets, make sure to actually read the Terms and Conditions. Look for expirations dates as you don’t want the tickets expiring before your visit. Check the refund and transfer policies and most importantly, the manner in which you’ll receive the tickets. Some places will require you to pick them up at the ticket booth while others can email or send it through mail.

Before getting into detail on how to find discounts for Disneyland Tickets, if you’re going with a child under the age of three, you don’t need to purchase a ticket as it’s free for them. Children between the ages of 3-9 require a child ticket while ten years and older need an adult ticket.

AAA Discounts for Members and Their Families

AAA members can get discounts for two or three-day passes. Though, there are three different discounted tickets: Southern California Residents, single Park per day tickets and Park Hopper tickets. To look into these discounts, you must visit your locals AAA branch.

Military Passes Start at $168

For any active or retired U.S. military member, there are discounts for the three or four-day tickets. Military personnel and up to 6 family members are eligible to receive these discounts each visit. 

The Military discount is also redeemable for Disney PhotoPass, a new feature that allows you to grab those professional photos throughout the park and save them to a disk. The PhotoPass also features over 350 high resolution photos of the Disney World and Disneyland Parks. 

  • 3 Day Pass $168 
  • 4 Day Pass $188
  • PhotoPass discounted to $49 plus tax.
Tickets can be purchased through your authorized military base ticket office. 

Costco Member Discount

Costco doesn’t necessarily sell discount Disneyland ticket anymore but they do have vacation packages that can work in your favor. Although, it is said that some location still have tickets so it doesn’t hurt to ask and check.

Group Ticket Discounts

Of course, large groups can get a discount. For groups of 15 people or more, a Disney group specialist can give you all the details on how you can save once in the park.  Discounts vary per guest count and organization. You must contact Disney directly for group discount tickets.

Annual Passports for Frequent Visitors

These are another name for annual passes to Disneyland theme parks. Prices range from $369 to $1,149 depending on how often and when you visit the parks. 

Disney Southern California Select Passport

Disney Signature Passport

  • Admission to both parks on select day for an entire year.
  • 15% off select dining
  • 20% off select merchandise
  • Standard parking
  • Minimal blockout dates

Price: $999

Payment plan: $147 down and 71.00 monthly.

Disney Signature Plus Package

  • Admission to both parks every day of the year.
  • Disney MaxPass included
  • 15% off select dining
  • 20% off select merchandise
  • Standard parking
  • No blockout dates

Price: $1149

Payment plan: $147 down and 83.50 monthly.

Southern California Resident Disneyland Tickets

Those who reside in Southern California have more options than anyone else to get discounts. To qualify for these discounts, residents must live in zips codes 90000-93599. Even the local Costco, Von’s or Ralph’s stores may offer lower-priced passes.

Teaches who are members of ACSA, CTA, CRTA, and First Financial Credit Union can get discounts through TSA Special Services. Although, the discounts are becoming less impressive as the prices aren’t as drastic.

To the university students, some Southern California Universities offer discounts for one-park, one-day Disneyland tickets. Make sure to check with your Student Union.

Then there are some large corporation and government agencies in Southern California that offer discounts to one-park, one-day Disneyland tickets to their employees. To know more, you will have to contact your Human Resources department.
