Jens Bangs Stonehouse

With a prominent location on Østerågade in Nytorv square this gargantuan mansion is hard to miss. It’s the former home of one of the richest Danes ever, Jens Bang. It's classic Renaissance style sets it apart from its neighbors and it's home to the oldest pharmacy in Aalborg – 300 years and counting. My favorite part of the building though are the gargoyles that dot the roofline. At sunset, if you catch them just right, they cast huge shadows on the street that look like monsters attacking pedestrians.
