The Albuquerque BioPark is located close to Casa Pearla and is our gorgeous botanic garden and aquarium. Family friendly or meditative for a solo visit. A local favorite wedding destination.

My favorite place in Albuquerque. In the summer the botanical gardens has concerts on Thursday nights and the zoo on Friday nights. Ask me for the schedule.

This Zoo, Botanical Gardens, linear parkway adjacent to the Rio Grande River, and Aquarium are all referred to jointly as the ABQ Bio Parks. The Zoo is among the top for its size in the world and is among the breeding zoos. During the summer months there are concerts of all kinds held in the enormous band shell for audiences that bring or purchase food and beverages and enjoy entertainment under the stars. It is inexpensive and a local favorite.

The Botanical Garden is breathtaking and considered to be among the top 5 in the world and is the #1 tourist destination in the state. They too have an excellent summer concert series on Thursday nights that offer various kinds of entertainment for a very modest fee and are also a huge hit with locals and visitors.

Want to know more about what can survive and thrive in this harsh high desert environment? Here you go. Plus, there is River of Lights display at Christmas time where the kids can ride the train among the displays.

Great zoo! I've been going to this zoo since I was a wee one, and I've seen it evolve over many years into a top-rated zoo and biopark. Don't miss the alligators, sea lions & seals, elephants (look for the new baby born spring 2014!) giraffes, and my favorites, the lemurs! Check the biopark website for feeding and show times.

We were there right when spring was hitting the region, so while we got to see the buds forming on everything, we didn't necessarily get to see the complete and full vegetation it becomes by the end of spring. But it was beautiful regardless.

This is a great relaxing place to visit for adults and kids. The Biopark has lovely gardens, an aquarium and zoo. There is even a beach on the river (Tingley). The restaurant is particularly fun as you can watch the sea creatures as you dine and the food is good.
