If you visit Amsterdam, try a Canal tour, it's the best way to take a look around city center. You can choose from a lot of different tours. In the tourism office or internet you can find a lot of suggestions. Enjoy this beautiful city!

These canals are gorgeous and if you missed them you are doing something wrong. Great place to enjoy a beer. In the winter you can ice skate!

Of course, the canals are one of the main attractions of Amsterdam and they don't disappoint. They are charming and very lovely to stroll about.

CANALS OF AMSTERDAM – DE AMSTERDAMSE GRACHTEN
Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, has more than one hundred kilometres of canals, about 90 islands and 1500 bridges. The three main canals, Herengracht, Prinsengracht and Keizersgracht, dug in the 17th century during the Dutch Golden Age, from concentric belts around the City, known as the Grachtengordel. Alongside the main canals are 1550 monumental buildings. Some other beautiful canals are, Singel, Zwanenburgwal, Brouwersgracht & Kloveniersburgwal. Tip! a great way to explore the Amsterdam Canals is with the "Amsterdam Boat Company" a review is here on GoGoBot amsterdamboatcompany.com

There's no doubt that Venice has a beautiful picturesque canal system, but other European cities are reputable when it comes to the art of canal design. Amsterdam took it to a new level by laying out their main canals in 4 half rings which nicely align with the adjacent architecture and roads. However, it's easy to get lost in the streets and alleys, but sometimes it's fun to go with the flow.

Spending the day smoking weed on the canals is a wonderful experience. I wish I had more time to spend in the A Dam..

I had a great time there but keep in mind it is cold in Amsterdam and usually it’s cloudy or foggy.

The charming facades of Amsterdam canal’s houses are such an amazing experience. The use of gables with a narrow frontage, the most prominent elements of the Dutch canal houses, makes you feel like you are in a film set!

If you've somehow managed to go to Amsterdam and not see the amazing canals, your doing something wrong. Pitch up next to one of them with a beer but be careful not to fall in - there's no bars to stop you!

Amsterdam is a canal city, a canal in every block horizontally and vertically across the city blocks. There are many canal tours you can take which will take you around the major ones and show you interesting sights.

Had a tour here on the canal and was shown Anne Frank's house and the narrowest house on that strip. This place is so beautiful and historic. It's amazing that the canal is ice during the Winter.

The canals are what makes Amsterdam, Amsterdam! The whole city is practically a mirage of waterways built by man in sand using technology and ingenuity. The canals are a triumph of human accomplishment!

Nothing makes you fall in love of Amsterdam more than strolling along the canals of this city. Even better if you can sit and relax at one of the many benches along the water or just sit at a cafe` and enjoy the typical Amsterdam atmosphere.

We've done so many things in Amsterdam. But our favorite by far has to be just seeing the canals. This city is just so well organized, clean, and full of nature, that I can't say I've seen a better city (no offense to the others)! What better way to get something out of visiting than by taking it all in (for free!).
