Great food, great beer, and great atmosphere! Located in the heart of downtown, Glacier Brew House is one of the must visit restaurants in Anchorage.

I love Glacier Brewhouse. Consistently excellent food, wonderful drinks and the location is perfect for walking around downtown and catching some sites. The pizzas and burgers are delicious. The bread and dipping oil is "killer". Very pretty interior, dominated by wood, stone and a marvelous fireplace.

Near hotels used by cruise and travel industry, this restaurant is busy with a high volume of out-of-towners, but the food is good, the fireplace welcoming, service efficient and friendly. Also served great brewhouse beer.

Great brews and food in downtown anchorage! I usually get the roasted chicken or rockfish. The rockfish is amazing, but get an appetizer or salad as well if your really hungry. Or drink more beers!

Good brewery in downtown Anchorage. The food and brews are good but I'd avoid the Alaskan King Crab legs. At $30 for 1/2 pound, for me it just wasn't worth the price. I do recommend the fish and chips and their chili. Perfect picts for a cold Alaskan day.

Very busy, great location. The servers know their stuff and love their job. I sat in the bar area but far from the bar, which meant closest to the kitchen which is fun to watch the rotisserie and the grill working away at preparing deliciousness for everyone.

If you want to get King Crab legs the size of your torso, Glacier Brewhouse is the place to do it. Glacier Brewhouse also creates and brews all of its signature beers on site.

A large restaurant / gastropub downtown which is both busy and buzzy. The food is pretty good and the staff are very hospitable.

Downtown Anchorage's best place for dinner is this upscale brewpub. Love the copper brewing vats almost as much as the daily salmon dinner specials. Incredibly fresh seafood, and the house-made potato chips with melted blue cheese are awesome if you've been working up an appetite in the great outdoors. Service is friendly, and if you don't make reservations, you can just wait to snag a table in the bar area. We ate here twice during our most recent trip to Alaska, and our relatives who are AK locals rate it as their favorite place to eat downtown. Oh, the beer's tasty, too!

You will enjoy the signature beers by the iron moose antler fireplace in the center of the restaurant/bar!

Whenever we ended up in Anchorage this place was our go to for dinner. I've dined here numerous times and it always delivers. It has a fantastic menu and being a microbrewery - their selection of alcoholic drinks is fantastic.

Excellent choice for casual food in downtown Anchorage. This is a microbrewery on the premises, with a large dining room, and an open kitchen that features a large rotisserie with wood fired planks with heat you can feel. The smoke from this place billows out and diffuses this lovely wood plank smell for blocks, enticing you in. They print a new menu every week.

The August 2 - 8 menu included these representative highlights: Starters: Calamari strips with garlic and black pepper served with jalapeno aioli $10.50. Soups: Alaskan seafood corn chowder with fennel, peppers, bacon, and topped with cream and dry sherry $4.95 cup; $6.50 bowl. Sandwich: Chicken Thai Chile sandwich with pineapple glaze, beefsteak tomatoes, cucumber, mixed greens and Thai chile Aoili on housemade focaccia (served with parmesan/garlic sprinkled french fries) $9.50. Seafood: Alderwood grilled Salmon in cilantro shallot marinade on seared crab and rice cake, with corn relish and hollandaise sauce $17.95. Pizza: Mediterranean with sundried tomato pesto, garlic, artichoke hearts, bean sprouts, bermuda onion and cilantro. $10.95. The micro brews are also very good and enjoyable, e.g. Blonde, Amber, IPA, Heferweizen and Oatmeal Stout, $2,95 half pint, $4.50 pint. They also have stronger brews, like the Beam Black Rye Bock, which is a black beer with a chocolate/spicyness, aged in Jim Beam bourbon barrels and an alchohol volume of about 9%. The Imperial Blonde is malty and creamy, and is the same beer as in Talkeetna labelled Ice Axe Ale. These 2 speciality high alcohol beers are $3.25 half and $4.95 full.

The ambiance and decor is very inviting and comfortable, with open industrial ceiling and wood plank accents. The sandwiches are a little too wet with aioli, making them sloppy to eat. The fries are tasty. The flavors are great, and the service is good.. Wolfgang Puck couldn't do much better here.

The Glacier Brewhouse was a real treat. I was worried it might be the usual greasy pub food, but it was anything but that! The food was very well priced and great quality. The beers on tap are awesome. I'd highly recommend this for a quick bite or even a nice night out.

My go-to place whenever I'm in anchorage! I love their calamari - it's always done to perfection (not rubber)! All their appetizers are awesome, as are their entrees. I have never been disappointed with any meal. Their peanut-butter pie is awesome, but I generally have to share since I'm usually stuffed after eating the main meal.

My sister had gone shopping and I was hungry. Funny how things work out that way. I just stumbled into this one....looked like a happening place. It was crowded and had to wait a while but that was understandable. It was really nice, with a fire place and a view of a big beer brewer in the back. I do agree with everyone - the beer was amazingly good. I am still learning the finer points of beer drinking but there was nothing to ascertain...it just was all good. The food was great also......but yeah, back to the beer. It was really good. The place was really crowded and I couldn't help but stare at the sun light.....too much. The local brew helped with that. Everything went well with the beer. Especially the desert. I would give them 5 but I had to wait and the sun made me irritated - truly one of the gawds blessings to wear sunglasses indoors.
;D
