Hadrian’s Library is in the middle of Monastiraki shopping area. It’s included in the combination ticket for the Acropolis, and won’t take long to visit. In its heyday it must have been truly impressive, because what’s left is a vast footprint. There’s a lack of shade at this sight, and it closes earlier than many of the others. The site has a small museum gallery, the remnants of a church built after the library was destroyed, and the remains of the library’s original footprint.

An interesting archaeological site just off Monastiraki Flea Market. If you have a combination ticket then entrance is quite cheap and it is definitely one of the quieter sights. Some nice mosaics but there is little to see here.

There isn't much left of this Roman-era library, but it must have been a wonder in its 2nd century A.D. heyday. Emperor Hadrian, a great admirer of Greek culture (he was known as "Graecula" or "Little Greek"), equipped the expansive complex with lecture halls, gardens and art galleries. The best preserved part of the library is an outer wall with Corinthian columns. There isn't a whole lot to see inside, but admission is included with the Acropolis ticket, so it’s certainly worth a walk-through.
