The special prohibition exhibit was the best historic part of this musuem. Although the highlight was the videogame history mainly because...videogames were are life as children. It was great to see the things we grew up with and actually get to play with as well. Overall the musuem was kind of boring, and I enjoy reading and learning about everything.

I learned a lot about Texas at this wonderful museum. There was so much I didn't know. Through artifacts and film, the history of the state comes to life.

So much to see at this museum, with very engaging rotating exhibits, as well. There is an IMAX, and they are very accessible (let people use wheelchairs for free, not hard to wheel around, etc).

I came here with my sons 4th class and was very impressed at their level of organization with such a large crowd of kids. The docents are very helpful and knowledgeable. The interaction level for kids is great and the walk through the museum is enjoyable.
We saw two movies and I was impressed at the details and layout of the film as well as how well it kept the kids and adults engaged.
The museum is meticulously well kept and a pleasure to visit.

I enjoy going here for that movie you want to see on the IMAX big screen. The concession stand has a limited selection and no hot popcorn. Bring you favorite snacks. The seats are not the most comfortable. Parking is reasonable underground and I never had a hard time finding a parking space. Purchase your tickets in advance and save to you fell phone. They scan you phone at the door.

The Bob Bullock State Museum is within walking distance from the capital. Currently the museum exhibit is GRIDIRON GLORY- The Best of the Pro Football Hall of Fam therefore there is a giant football in front of it. The museum has allot of exhibits to interact with and it also has an IMAX theatre. The History of Texas galleries are also pretty neat. I have heard of people that plan a full day at the museum doing a scavenger hunt for history facts, I believe you must ask for permission first but what a fantastic way to learn Texas history with your friends.

Nice place to get some local and state history. Interesting exhibits but would recommend for children 10 and up. It is not really an interactive place for smaller children. Lots of pictures and reading.

History, IMAX & Architecture! I am always drawn here by the beauty of the building. The ostentatious star out front greets you with a big Texas howdy. Once inside the size of the space is overpowering and grand. The museum is a walk through the backstory of our state and other traveling exhibits are great reason to keep coming back. The IMAX theater is huge and perfect for all your 3-D movie viewing. I saw TRON here 3 times because that movie was made for 3-D and the IMAX did it best. I have been ruined by seeing movies at the Alamo Drafthouse so I don't find the seating as comfortable, but you can't miss out on the educational or documentary films they show here. It's more than a museum!

If you want to get the low down on Texas History, this is the place to go. It's a very large museum with a variety of exhibits covering Texas History. They also have an IMAX theatre there.

Get a detailed history of the state. And take in an IMAX movie. The history museum is a great way to beat the mid-day heat while giving your mind a much deeper appreciation of how Texas has changed from its days as part of Mexico to what it is today.

Even if your heart doesn't belong to Texas, this a clean crisp museum that portrays the spirit that keeps the circulation moving in the Lone Star State. The Spirit of Texas is totally worth the $5 admission with multimedia multi sensory fun. The IMAX was also a great way to pass some time out of the 100+ degree heat.
