Fairfield Inn and Suites Downtown is just one block from what is considered technically downtown. From there, the Inner Harbor and all of the other attractions are just a 10 minute walk. There’s also a Whole Foods about a 15 minute walk away. This hotel is really unique. There are two separate towers that are connected by the lobby and a courtyard. The outdoor courtyard is really open, despite being closed in on all sides. There are heat lamps and chairs so you can sit out and socialize. Another cool feature is that there’s a tavern on premise, and the hotel is also eco-friendly.

The Fairfield Inn prides itself for being Baltimore's first green hotel. It has a zero-carbon footprint and was renovated to be as energy efficient as possible. Fun fact: the grain silo the hotel's courtyard used as a beer storage tank and now captures rainwater runoff that is recycled and used for the hotel's landscape irrigation.

This hotel was really cute, I was pleasantly surprised. It's off the Inner Harbor, so it's a bit of a walk but otherwise in a good location. The hotel is in a an older building, and I like that they kept the historic look and feel when renovating- there's lots of exposed brick and dark wood, it's a nice touch. One of the best parts is the outdoor area, which is a patio/garden off the breakfast room. There's a fountain with tables and cushy seats- the perfect place for a cup of coffee. The rooms were nice, lots of bright colors and plush bedding. One room I saw had the bed in a loft like area which was pretty cool. The bathrooms also looked nice with modern sinks and vanities. Only downside is that parking can be a bit of a pain- there's valet, or you can pay to park at the garage, but it doesn't allow in/out access. There was also an attached bar and restaurant- there's so many places in the area that it's hard to complete, but it seemed like a good spot for a quick bite or after-dinner drink. The large rooms and amenities make this a perfect hotel for families and kids.

The valet was so professional and nice, I could tell immediately that I was going to love this place. I really like the location for the sake of things to do, but parking in the neighborhood is not very convenient (unless you have the best parking karma ever). Valet service while quite nice is pricey. Try Little Italy garage if you don't mind hoofin it. (3 bucks on the weekends and weekdays after 5pm is what I paid.)

The restaurant in-house is well-known for their crab cakes; no filling they boast! Pretty much everyone you talk to will tell you that you MUST try them.

I liked the room a lot. It was just shy of a "wow" because I found it a little small compared to others I have seen in that price range. Bathrooms were clean though I didn't have a tub so be sure to request one if you like soaking. The courtyard is so lovely and has a fireplace!
